This course is available to all dentists, therapists and dental nurses. Individuals will learn how to place simple sutures and also how to remove them, and make the appropriate material choices.
The knowledge and theory are provided in person, and the student will have a practical lesson and opportunity to practice on models on the evening.
What you will learn: Suturing Exercises, Types of Sutures Exercises, Interrupted Sutures, Mattress Sutures, Sling Sutures, Continuous Sutures
Aims: To improve skills and confidence to place sutures within the mouth

Dr Luisa Mateescu
Luisa Mateescu DMD qualified in Romania in 2017 at Faculty of Dentistry, University of Medicine and Pharmacy ‘Carol Davila’ in Bucharest. She started her career alongside oro-maxillo-facial surgeons and endodontic specialists within a private environment.
In 2018 Oana relocated to the UK, starting as an NHS mentee in a mixed NHS and private practice. Oana relocated to West Midlands where she currently works at {my}dentist Redditch and AllSaints Dental in Kings Heath, Birmingham. Since then, Luisa has completed Dominic Hassall – Postgraduate Certificate in Contemporary Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry and has also became an accredited NHS and Private mentor. She is also a {my}dentist Connect coach, lecturer and demonstrator as part of Glo Academy.
Luisa has completed a number of orthodontic
postgraduate courses as well being an active part of multiple online professional groups and dental forums.
Luisa’s main interest lies within cosmetic composite build-ups and the use of clear aligners such as Invisalign but also more complex restorative cases.

Mr Ahmed Farooq is a highly skilled specialist in Restorative Dentistry. He works across multiple UK sites sharing and expanding his expertise as a Restorative consultant. Coaching and mentoring is one of his true passions, helping support the development and career potential of budding clinicians. He is very experienced in Dental Photography and how this can be utilised to showcase skills and enhance the patient journey.
